Aims and  Ambitions   Alan is an experienced musician and songwriter working in the Country/Americana/Rock/Alternative/AAA genres. Alan's main aim is to find recording artists who are interested in covering his material. This might be through interaction with a music producer, a publisher or a record company's Artist and Repertoire team. HIS MATERIAL IS ALSO AVAILABLE UNDER LICENSE FOR COMMERCIAL USE (please go HERE for more info).  He is also happy to work with music or lyrics written by other artists to complement their work by contributing towards the completion of a project. Alan is a mature professional composer who is accustomed to deadlines. He is free to travel, would consider musical supervision/consultation work and has experience in television and audio production. He is a member of the Performing Rights Society in the UK . He is always ready to consider an interesting publishing/ development suggestion on one or more titles or to help the consolidation of current work in progress.

Musical and Lyrical Style Americana, New Country, Adult Alternative Rock, Contemporary Folk Rock,  AAA. Like many writers Alan struggles from time to time with labels and genres. He prefers to write from the heart  leaving the producer to wrap the material in the mantle of current contemporary preference whatever that may be. His demos are produced to a high standard and without undue embellishment. His lyrical approach is often wry which is a reflection of his sense of humor and his desire to view the human condition from an unusual angle. Some songs are narrative by nature ('Divided in three') and others tender ('I will never let you go'). Neither is he afraid to tackle difficult subject matter ('Oklahoma' - about the  bombing) or ( 'Who speaks for us?' - which considers those further out on the 'edge' of the loop). He counts the writing of Warren Zevon and Randy Newman, the guitar playing of Ry Cooder and the singing of  Tom Rush, Hoyt Axton and Cat Stevens amongst those he particularly respects.
